Protopresbyter Vasileios Kalliakmanis

Biography

Born in Thermo, Aitolia, Greece, in 1957. High, higher and postgraduate studies done in Athens, Thessaloniki, Geneva and Fribourg, Switzerland. He is Professor at the Department of Ethics and Sociology at Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and teaches moral and pastoral theology. Pastor in Saint George Cathedral of Neapolis and Stavroupolis’ Metropois, Thessaloniki. He is married and has four children. Since 1994 he is responsible for the edition of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Review, “Orthodoxy”, issued in Thessaloniki. He participated in many scientific conferences and developed topics of his expertise. In February 2006 gave courses at the Theology Faculty in Belgrade. He lectures in various cities of Greece and Cyprus on spiritual, social and theological issues. Member of the Synodal Committee for Bioethics, Liturgical Renewal and Pastoral Work. His works have been translated into Italian, German, Serbian and Russian.
